Youth Ministry

The mission of St. Leo's Youth Ministry program is to provide a safe, welcoming environment where our young people can build community and grow in their faith.  This is done through weekly meetings, retreats, social outings, and service projects.

Life Support   Bible studies and sharing groups that are designed to assist young people who want to "go deeper" in their faith walk.

Teen Liturgies   Every Sunday during the school year at 5:00 p.m., in the Church:  Special opportunities for youth to experience the sacramental life of the church.

Adult Service Opportunities

Hospitality Team   Helps coordinate food, decorations, and special events for youth ministry.

Chaperone Team   Helps with the supervision of youth retreats and outings.

Prayer Team   Prays regularly for the youth and the events sponsored by the youth ministry.

Core Team   This "frontline" ministry team leads the youth program, working directly with the young people.  There is a core team for both senior high and middle school student programs.

Youth Service Opportunities

In addition to the ways adults can serve the Youth Ministry program, many opportunities exist for youth to serve St. Leo's.

Childcare   Often church events require childcare so that mothers with young children can be involved.  Youth with the gift of working with younger children are invited to share their time.

Teen Core Team   This service team of young people help coordinate and direct programs for both the Life Teen and Spirit programs.

Vacation Bible School   Be a counselor at a week-long summer program for children 4-10 years old.  Assist with songs, skits, crafts, and recreational activities.

There are other ways teens can fulfill service obligations.   Contact the youth office if you wish to learn how.
